How do I register with fonebackup?

Download fonebackup from www.fonebackup.com/d. Start fonebackup, select 'Option'from the 'Main Menu' screen, choose 'Registration', enter the Mandatory Fields and choose 'Register' in 'Options'. You will recieve a sms with your password. You can also Register by selecting Login on 'Main Menu' screen and choose Register from the Options. You can change your password after you have loggedin, from 'Profile' on the 'Main Menu'.

If you happen to forget your password, steps to be followed are as follows:

Step 1 -Open your fonebackup application on the phone.
Step 2 -On the 'Main Menu' choose Login and select 'Forget Password' from the Options.
Step 3 -Enter your phone number and select submit in the menu.
Step 4 -It will ask you for a notification for receiving the password via the SMS.
selecting yes you will receive an SMS with your new password.

Backup phonebook allows you to save your contacts from the phone to the fonebackupserver.To view your contacts on server log in to www.fonebackup.com

To download saved phonebook, there are 2 options.
1.All -
This will get all the contacts from server to the phone.
2. SMART -
This will get only those contacts that are present on the server and not on phone.

You can backup Multimedia files to the fonebackup server and view them online at www.fonebackup.com. fonebackupallows Multimedia files like mp3's, pictures, word files, videos or any other in your mobile phone.The saved Multimedia files can be downloaded to your mobile phone.

Search Phonebook allows you to search contacts from your uploaded contacts or the contacts on your mobile phone based on Name, Job Title, Organisation, Note, Email, URL or on all.

Shared Contacts enables you to view contacts shared by other fonebackup members. To share a contact, from the mobile application search the contacts on server and use the Share option.

To know the Features that are Compatible with your mobile phone, select 'Option' on the 'Main Menu' and choose 'Compatibility'.The list of Compatible features for your mobile phone will be automatically listed.

Step 1 - Ensure your GPRS connection is activated.

Step 2 - Do Following settings

Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Internet Settings > Internet Profile and select profile.

fonebackup needs some way to connect to the internet. For your phone to connect to the internet you need to activate a data plan from your service provider. fonebackup is not dependent* on the type of connectivity and works with all type of connections WAP/GPRS/3G/Wi-Fi all it needs is access to the domain fonebackup.com from your phone. Besides GSM it also works on CDMA network provided your provider allows access to via the internet to fonebackup.com. Certain phones require to have a non-WAP based connection in order to allow fonebackup to access the internet.

fonebackup is independent of country and the provider you are using. As long as you have a compatible phone which can connect to the internet you can use fonebackup.

The data transfer cost varies based on your provider. You may want to check with your provider in terms of how your data plan is charged.

Yes you can. fonebackup is based on your login authentication. If you login from a different phone with your login credentials fonebackup will give you access to your data on the server and treat the data on the existing phone as your own data. So if you retrieve your contacts and messages these will be stored on the phone from which you are logged in from. If you backup your contacts the contacts from the phone from which you are logged in will be backed up within your account. We would advice you to use only the Call and Search feature only when you are using fonebackup from someone elses phone.

If your phone is lost and you still retain your old number then all you need to do is download fonebackup on your new phone and use it as you were using it earlier. Your existing login credentials will work and you do not need to new registration

You can continue to use your old login credentials even with your new number. But all intimations will continue to go to your old number and hence it is recommended you change your number.

Step 1 -In the Menu go into Settings > Configuration -> Default config. settings.
Here you will see a list of Access Points configured on the phone.

Step 2 -Highlight any of the active Access Points. Under 'Options' select 'Set as default'.
